In a sense we are all to be deacons since the word simply means servant But God in His wisdom states that certain men are to wear that title in a special and vital way These men must meet certain qualifications However 1 Timothy 313 also gives us a way to evaluate deacons knowing that if deacons are doing their work elders can be freed up to shepherd and oversee
