New Way of Seeing: What the Blind Man Saw (Matthew Balentine)
Sunday Jan 19, 2020
Sunday Jan 19, 2020
In this sermon, Matthew Balentine examines an encounter with a blind man, who felt a lot better after he met Jesus. This man can teach us a great deal about how we can relate to God. Our problem might not be physical blindness, but we need the same thing Bartimaeus asked for—mercy.
Outline:
1. Faith is hearing and believing, even when you can't see.
2. You must resist people who hinder your spiritual progress.
3. Jesus is never too busy to pause and help you.
4. You must admit your need in order to be changed.
5. When you see the face of Jesus, you'll follow Him anywhere.

Sunday Jan 12, 2020
Sunday Jan 12, 2020
On "New You Sunday," Matthew begins a series on a theme taken from Ezekiel 18:31 ("Make you a new heart and a new Spirit.") Every day, our goal should be to make within ourselves a new commitment to God.
In the first sermon of this series, we see six life lessons we can learn from one of the lepers healed by Jesus in Luke 17:11-19:
- You have a deadly problem that only Jesus can fix.
- You must admit your need and cry out to Jesus.
- God's power is not released until you step out in faith.
- It is good to spend time at the feet of Jesus.
- Feeling thankful is different than giving thanks.
- Let Jesus finish what he started in you.
